FINDING AN H-1B VISA JOB & SPONSORSHIP

If you are a foreign national who wishes to move to and work in the U.S., one way to achieve your goal is by finding a job which qualifies you for a H-1B Visa (for Professional Workers).

H-1B status requires a sponsoring U.S. employer who will petition the Department of Labor on your behalf. World Immigration Center can help you through the process of finding an employer/sponsor. Or, if you are already in the U.S., we can help you change your current visa to an H-1B Visa.

Specialty Occupation
H-1B Visas are granted to workers within a "specialty occupation," which requires specialized knowledge along with at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Specialty occupations can be found within the fields of business, engineering, medicine, law and the arts.

Finding a Sponsoring Employer
Finding an H1B job and sponsorship is not easy. It can be a long, difficult process, requiring more than just "traditional" job search methods. Foreign nationals often have mistaken beliefs about H-1B sponsorship. One common misconception is that a friend living in the U.S. can sponsor you for a H-1B Visa. This is not so. Individuals cannot sponsor or apply for H-1B Visas - only employers can.

Why You Need to Prepare
There is a limit on the number of H-1B visas issued each year (The current limit is 65,000.) But with early preparation, you can beat the rush of applicants and give yourself the best chance of fulfilling your goal - of living and working in the U.S.
